Bingo

Coordinator: “To be announced”

A fun game of chance played with cards having numbered squares corresponding to numbered balls drawn at random and won by covering five such squares in a row. It is also a social gathering at which bingo is played. With great prices to be won.

Bridge

Bridge is a card game played with four people sitting at a card table using a standard deck of 52 cards (no jokers).

Canasta

Coordinator: Jackie Huntley

Canasta is a card game of the Rummy family of games believed to be a variant of 500 Rummy Although many variations exist for two, three, five, or six players, it is most commonly played by four in two partnerships with two standard decks of cards. Players attempt to make melts of seven cards of the same rank and “go out” by playing all the cards in their hands. It is “the most recent card game to have achieved worldwide status as a classic”.

Coffee Shop

Provides food/coffee services to Members of the Schubert Centre and the Community at large. Meals to go are available but must be pre-ordered. Frozen to-go meals are always available.

Honour System
Free library of various novels. Borrow as many as you like and bring them back when you are finished! We also have a large print section. Jigsaw Puzzles are available as well, take one leave one.

Meals on Wheels

Coordinator: Nancy Hadley & Carol Wynd

Hours of Operation: Delivery in Vernon Monday, Wednesday, and Friday;
Providing affordable, hot, nutritious & delicious, low salt, low-fat meals. Diabetic or vegetarian meals are available on request. Available to anyone who has difficulty purchasing & preparing meals. Meals provided by the Meals On Wheels program are ordered Monthly and delivered to recipients by a dedicated volunteer team, three times a week.
