For the love of Schubert
Welcome back everyone! I am so glad that we are open again!
Welcome back everyone! I am so glad that we are open again! We were only closed a week and a half but it felt like an eternity. I was happy to come back to work. I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a great New Years. I know that I did.
I know that there have been some concerns about the new regulations and restrictions. We continued to follow the restrictions even after many of them were lifted so there will not be very many changes at this time. We ask that everyone continues to sanitize, show vaccinations, and sign in upon entry whether you are entering from the front or back door. My personal request is that people continue to be kind to the volunteers and staff that are asking for these things. If we do not follow the rules, the Schubert Centre will be in trouble. We are all trying to do what we can to keep the doors open.
Thank you to the Reception girls for handling all the signing in and sanitizing. I see and hear all of the conversations that happen at the desk and I know how much you are dealing with. It is not unappreciated or unnoticed.
This year I would like us all to move forward with kindness in our words and love and courage in our hearts as we face whatever 2022 will throw at us. Together we will keep moving forward. Together we will succeed.
Words of Wisdom
We are always in search of more people willing to help out around the Schubert Centre. There is always more work to be done.
We currently need the most help in the Thrift Store, Reception desk, and setups. There’s also kitchen work, catering, maintenance.. the list goes on. There’s always a job to do. If there is something you think you may be interested in, please ask for more information.
1 year membership for 2022 is $24.00 only until January 18 then $30.00 after.
3 year memberships are $70.00.
Book With Us

Messages from the Schubert Centre
I would like to thank everyone at the Schubert Centre for a very warm welcome. I am very excited to be working with such a wonderful group of people and creating delicious food to eat! Your patience and support means everything to keeping us going through this process of getting to know each other during such a busy season. I would like to send a huge personal thank you to Dorrit LaPlante, Val Lynch and Jim and Carol Wynd! Without their hard work, dedication and assistance none of this would be possible! All the volunteers do such a wonderful job! I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity, and I hope you enjoy the food as much as I have enjoyed working here!
Schubert Centre Cook
Happy 2022! Meals on Wheels would like to thank all our hard working and dedicated volunteers without whom we wouldn’t exist. Thank you to the fabulous ladies and Jim in the kitchen. The meals just keep getting better. Many thanks to all the wonderful drivers and runners. Major kudos to you all. Wishing you and yours a happy, safe, healthy and productive 2022!

Oh! “Those were the days” my friends, when we all made our way down to the Coffee Shop for cinnamon buns and coffee on Tuesday mornings. Cinnamon buns are back on Tuesdays my friends. Tuesdays are definitely the busiest day in the Coffee Shop for groups of friends meeting for coffee which means we are living up to our name Schubert Centre Coffee Shop. Hot meals are served 3 times a week Mon, Wed & Fri with Tues & Thurs being Soup and Sandwich days.
Oh! “Those were the days” my friends, when we all came out for Happy Hour! Happy Hour is every Friday from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. We would like to see everyone kicking up their heels and dancing up a storm. The dancing is somewhat limited due to Covid-19; however, come on out for Happy Hour, listen to the music, and enjoy a chit chat with friends.
Oh! “Those were the days” my friends, when Jacquie Simmonds & Betty Anderson were the catering coordinators. With Terry wearing yet another “hat”, wait by the phone to hear me call and ask for help when Catering Volunteers are needed.
The best of the Holiday Season to y’all!
